The photographs from the series Thermidor are made during the summer while in Israel. The title of the series takes its name from a month in the French Revolutionary Calendar. In this series, the oppressive heat, stale air, dry scorched surfaces yield a "revolutionary stagnation". Often these photographs were made as an aside while documenting the scenery of early socialist zionist etatism.
